Wondering how to setup PermissionsBukkit+mChat with McMyAdmin? Well this guide will show you how!
This tutorial assumes you have the following:
- Any version of McMyAdmin already setup.
- Access to your plugins directory, whether it is through FTP, home hosted, or some other form of file upload.
Now on to the tutorial.
1. First of all, you will need to download PermissionsBukkit from
here and mChatSuite (mChat) from
here.
2. Next, you will need to add these plugins to your plugins directory. After doing so, go ahead and restart your server.
3. After restarting, make sure the PermissionsBukkit and mChatSuite folders have shown up. There is no need to edit configs for this tutorial.
4. Go ahead and go to your McMyAdmin control panel. Go to Preferences>Server Features>Permissions Exporting. Set this to PermissionsBukkit+mChat.

5. Go ahead and restart your server for good measure.
6. Now lets create your groups. Enter a group name first of all in the text box on the bottom.

Click the + button or press Enter.
Repeat this step to add all the groups you want.
7. Now, we need to add the members and nodes for each group. Lets start by looking at the Member group we just created.
Click on the group name Member on the left hand side. You will be presented with a screen like this:

Lets go ahead and add the members and nodes first. Add any members you would like to add.

Next, we will add the nodes for this group. You can find the permissions nodes for most plugins on their forum/dev page.

Note that you do not to have to add permissions again for groups that are ranked above groups that already have them. For example, if we wanted Mods to have essentials.tp, we would not need to give them this node again because the Members group already has this node! Also note that the * node is not support by PermissionsBukkit. I recommend you either give players op in replacement of *.
8. Maybe one of the most important parts of permissions is setting up the inheritance! This is the order that the groups are earned in. It also serves for the reason I stated above, giving higher ranks the commands of the lower ranks.
9. Now we will deal with the mChat part of the group. This includes the prefix, suffix, and the colors for each.
Lets say we want the "Members" group to have a blue prefix that reads
Member. We would do the following.

Note that you can also allow or disallow groups to Build or Interact (This means chatting) in this section.
10. Now, its time to test what you have! Join your server, and whatever group you set yourself to, you should be in it! If you have any questions or need more help, feel free to ask in the #McMyAdmin channel!
